Smart Snacks
WCPSS Adopted a new Student Wellness Policy in June of 2017. One of the core parts of the new policy updates the snack policy. "Snacks provided on school campus during the school day should be commercially prepared and consistent with the Smart Snacks in Schools standards." These standards were created by the USDA and are required for all foods served in schools. Complying with the standards created by the USDA and adopted officially in the WCPSS policy opens the school up for grants and opportunities to improve the school. This page has been designed to help provide information and resources to comply with the new policy.
